Filling in the Frame

Since the completion of the steel frame in early January, crews have been hard at work on the next stage of construction. Drivers on Preston Road now see a gleaming dome atop the Winn Science Center, after curved sheets of metal insulation were cut and installed. Metal trusses have been lifted onto the second floor to form the sloped roof around the perimeter of the building, with wood trim coming soon. Over the next few weeks, the exterior brick walls will start going up, and the entire building should be enclosed by spring.
